Kerrville, TX

TUE., FEB. 21 thru TUE., FEB. 28, 2023

We encountered tons of wind turbines on our drive from Ft. Stockton to Old River Road RV Resort in Kerrville TX on Tuesday, Feb. 21 (2023). The Guadalupe River runs behind the campground with stunning cypress trees lining the banks of the river. Just gorgeous! So fun to re-connect with the sibs while we’re here… (brother) Andy and Linda and (brother) Bob and Deb are alll camping here as well.

Gary & I had such a fun week here in Kerrville with family and very dear family friends, Carey and Tricia. Our families have known each other for over 60 years! Can it really be 60 years?!

We enjoyed the hot tub, swam in the pool and many of us even did water aerobics several mornings. We had campfires, played card games and cornhole. We walked along the Guadalupe River, enjoyed fabulous food, adult beverages, lots of great conversation and laughed till our bellies hurt. As an unexpected treat, I got to see my nephew, who was in the area preparing for a roping competition, and meet his sweet fiancé. And the best was being able to celebrate our sis Linda’s 70th birthday. Her birthday month has officially begun!

On Sunday, Feb. 26th (2023) we had to say goodbye to Bob, Deb, Carey and Tricia. We enjoyed one final day on Monday with Linda & Andy in Kerrville. The girls did water aerobics and a hot tub soak while the boys changed an anode rod on A&L’s tiny home. I think we got the better deal! A&L made dinner for us (delish), and we played one more card game before we called it a night. We hugged them goodbye Tuesday morning, tried not to cry, and hit the road. We saw lots of bluebonnets along I-10. Beautiful! We spent the night at Whispering Oaks RV Park in Weimar, TX. About 15 steps from I-10 and train horns going during the night! But, Gary and I had a beautiful Live Oak tree at our site and enjoyed a nice afternoon sitting outside. Tomorrow we move on to Galveston to reunite with Cheryl and Joe.
